Short answer: not on a standard marijuana (THC) test. K2 and Spice are synthetic cannabinoids, lab-made chemicals that are different from THC. They only show up on a test with a K2 panel or a dedicated K2 strip.
What is K2 / Spice?
K2, Spice and similar products are plant material sprayed with synthetic chemicals and sold as "herbal incense" or "potpourri." They are often marketed as a legal alternative to marijuana, but they can be far stronger and more dangerous, with serious side effects reported. Most are illegal.
Why a THC test will not catch it
A THC test looks for the breakdown product of marijuana. Synthetic cannabinoids have different chemical structures, so they do not trigger the THC panel. That is exactly why some people use them to avoid a positive result, and why programs add K2 testing.

An important limitation
Manufacturers constantly change the chemical formulas in synthetic cannabinoid products. Instant K2 tests detect common compounds, but newer ones may not be picked up. A negative K2 result does not rule out all synthetic cannabinoid use. If you suspect use despite a negative screen, a laboratory test can look for a broader range of compounds.
